Description
Mid-century Eastern European tram bench with double-sided seating, most likely dating from the 1950s60s.
This is a genuinely characterful piece, bringing with it a real sense of history. The seats and backs are made from oak and beech slats, which have worn to a rich, warm tone; the plywood sides remain more utilitarian and rough-hewn. The bench retains its original metal frame and transport fittings, which we’ve re-secured in place. Designed for durability rather than lounging, it sits upright but feels surprisingly comfortable, with a pleasing firmness to the slatted seat.
This is a piece of furniture with real presence – and would make a great feature in any home.
